Spring Training

Spring Training starts next week! Aside from the fact that the Angels have, in my opinion, absolutely no hope of getting anywhere near the Series thanks to fair trade and losing Vlad, Lackey and so on (although we did sign Matsui!), Spring Training is a symbol of things to come: warm weather, patios, beer and margaritas, spring breezes, afternoons at Edison field and the feeling of summer freedom. The Angels will play the White Sox on Thursday and Oakland on Saturday and Sunday, so it should get off to a pretty fun start.

The show opens tomorrow night. This week has been pretty crazy with set up and costume repairs but it's been an upbeat work atmosphere, so overall it's been pretty enjoyable. I'm slowly getting used to being in SD and staying in someone else's house and hopefully on my day off I'll be able to go and explore. Del Mar is gorgeous; very similar to Laguna Beach.

 

There are a lot of little cafes and thrift stores on the main high street overlooking the ocean. There's a little church just up the road from the fairgrounds so I'm hoping I'll be able to go to Sunday service and then grab some coffee before my call. And that's my plan so far :)
