Traveling

I have travel on the brain right now. After Cirque I'm planning to fly home for a few weeks to sunny London town, which is always a breath of fresh air. Albeit flying home isn't exactly the same as a holiday, but I get a six-month itch to hop on a plane and get back to England. Since August was the last time I was home, the itch is right on schedule!

The last time I went on holiday abroad was to Australia and Africa the summer before high school. Looking back, it was a pretty crazy experience. I went scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef (little known fact: I'm a certified scuba diver), went to Sydney, went to Zimbabwe and saw the biggest insects I've ever seen in my life, had our room invaded by spider monkeys (they kept stealing tins of beans), and went to Cape Town and Johannesburg. Once I get around to scanning these photos I'll put some up!

Now that I'm a bit older I keep thinking of places I'd love to revisit and new places I have yet to experience. High on this list are Florence and Pisa, Greece and Australia. I desperately want to live in Paris for a summer. I want to see Japan, Switzerland, Ireland, Jamaica and the Czech Republic. And if I could choose one place to go to right now it would be Russia.

So for my first act on the road to fulfilling my travel goals, I am going to attempt to visit the lovely Liz in Holland while I'm home in England in June. I've never been there and I worked for a Dutch family for four years, so all the more reason to go!

Oh, it will be fabulous.
