I love my day off. And it's raining and grey and my room is warm and cozy.
So, I've been running around like crazy for the last two weeks with Kooza performances. I'm starting to get into the swing on the show and for the most part everyone is really cool. There's only one diva whom I have the pleasure of assisting with quick changes. She doesn't talk or look at me, she just points to things that she needs retrieving. She has two mics that she needs clipped to her dress and keeps her earpiece in all the time, so sometimes I may or may not yank the mic cord a little harder than I'm supposed to, which may or may not cause the earpiece to make a nasty, loud popping sound. Oops. There are also quite a few English guys and a lot of Russians and for the most part everyone is really friendly.
A few of the people from Kooza are on Conan tonight. Stephan is a funny little French Canadian man and we have an ongoing playground diss relationship. He comes up to me during the show and pretends to start a fight, which continues throughout the entire Act. He's also helping me practise my French. I love him. Yulia will also be on the show - she's the Russian girl who calls me Kat because she can't pronounce my name and she's hilarious. Watch The Tonight Show!
Other than Kooza I've started taking my jazz class, which I adore, and I'm still working a couple of days a week at J. Crew. January has been an awesome start to the year and I'm hoping it will just continue to get better.
This goes without saying, but the earthquake in Haiti and the stories coming out of it are monstrous. Go to UNICEF: http://www.supportunicef.org/site/pp.asp?c=9fLEJSOALpE&b=1023561.
Avez-vous un bon après-midi!
