Last night, I had my first voice lesson since college. It's been a good two years+ since Gary Busby and Co. so it was equal parts of anticipation, excitement and wtf. I took the train into Birmingham and met Chloe at her apartment, where we chatted and ran some vocal warm ups and then went through some JRB sheet music (I've found a voice teacher who loves JRB and William Finn and detests Webber = I think I'm in love). In short, I've got a lot of work to do, and I'm expecting to sound quite awful while I'm retraining my vocal muscles and learning new habits, but I'm absolutely ready for it and I'm happy to start straight away :)
